We had an exciting delivery a few weeks back from the lovely people at Mega Bloks, its a name we are all familiar with, the range starts with big chunky bricks for little ones and smaller complex building kits for older kids. We have been sent the SpongeBob Krusty Krab Attack play set for review, the boys watch SpongeBob Square Pants regularly so were looking forward to building it, the set once built replicates the famous Krusty Krab burger restaurant.
The set comes in 407 pieces and all individually bagged but oddly not in any particularly order, some of the bags had numbers on but they didn’t relate to anything in the book. So myself and Dayton decided to open all the bags and sort all the pieces into colours so it was easier to identify the pieces we needed. The instructions were really clear and easy to follow and there was a guide right at the front that showed all the pieces you should have to start with.
It took a good hour to build and Dayton not being the most patient of children abandoned me mid build and left the job to me! This did give me the chance to take lots of photographs and turn them into a little build up movie for our YouTube channel.
Once built the set has lots of moving parts which adds a fun elements to the set, the burger grill has a flipper on it so you can flip the burgers from the grill to the serving hatch. There is also a plate server that propels the plates out of the bottom! There are 3 figures and also 3 robots figures so plenty to keep 2 children busy playing together. The boys really loved it and I loved that it all closes up for easy storage and all the little pieces store nicely inside.
The SpongeBob Krusty Krab Attack retails at £32.99 and would make an ideal Christmas present and available from Argos, its made a great addition to our every growing Mega Bloks collection.
