Both my Autistic children have the compulsion to chew, there is rarely a time when one of them doesn’t have something inside their mouth! This can be anything I have found them chewing batteries, cardboard, pens, pencils and plastic! So its important to offer them something safe to chew on and that’s where Chewigem come in, they where originally made with teething babies in mind. But soon they were inundated with messages from thrilled paretns of children with additonal needs telling them what a god send they where! I for one agree with them, Chewigem have saved me many school jumpers and offer piece of mind that Logan and Skye can chew in safety. We have had pendants before and we love them, I like from a parents perspective is that that chains have a break free clasp. I love that that are safe and it takes a while for my 2 to make a dent in them. I made a little bit of a video on our YouTube channels explaining a bit more about them.
My Daughter Skye is our biggest Chewigem fan and loves to wear the pendants, she calls them princess’s and loves to twirl around when wearing them. She really like the cat and skull pendants with the textured back. She loved rubbing them on her tongue and pulling them along her teeth. The emoticon is a fabulous idea, Logan struggles to express his feeling so being able to display them on a band is great for him, I did mention in my video that it was on the small side and Chewigem have told me they are already on the case to make them in a bigger size. This is great new as they will be hugely beneficial for people of all ages on the spectrum.
This is the best picture I could get of Skye with the Chewigems, as soon as she sees a camera she runs! You can see though she is wearing all 3 of them!! She really does love them and is pleased to have some new ones. They are great for if she is feeling stressed, upset or just fancies a chew!
