I was really excited when SkateHut got in touch and gave us the chance to review an item from their online store, with 3 boys who are mad on scooters and skateboarding it was a tough choice!
I had a good nosy around the store and was close to getting a stunt scooter for Dj as he loves to scoot, but then I spotted the 3in1 mini micro scooter and knew it would be perfect for Cody, priced at £79 it is suitable from ages 1 -5 years so will see them right through to the next stage scooter.
Toddlers need no longer envy their older brothers’ and sisters’ ®Mini Micro scooter. This clever 3in1 design is a sturdy seat that clips into a ®Mini Micro scooter allowing small children to surf the playroom floor with ease. Better still the seat grows in stages so that a child can use it as ride on, then a small scooter and finally a ®Mini Micro – making it fantastic value. The seat is easily attached to a sturdy plastic stem featuring a rounded handle which is then locked into the ®Mini Micro three-wheeled deck. As your child grows and becomes steadier on their feet, the seat can be removed to create My First ®Mini Micro scooter. When they are ready to pick up the pace, the plastic stem is simply swapped for a traditional Mini Micro T-bar and off they will go. Hats off to the team at Micro who have come up with yet another brilliant concept for small frustrated children who just want to have some fun!
Delivery was really quick and it arrived via DPD the very next day, this particular model from SkateHut comes with free next day delivery included in the price which is fab! As with all Micro Scooter products very little assembly is needed apart from clipping in the handle bars, which gives it huge parenting points.
Cody is your average 3 year old and he could comfortably use the seat addition, as a guide it is suggested ages 1-2 yrs for the seat, 2-3 yrs fr the smaller round handle and 3+ for the normal handle attachment. Cody definitely found the round handle easier to control compared to the tall handle. The retail cost of £80 its a lot more than some scooters out there but I think the fact this is suitable for at least 5 years means its worth the initial outlay. We have one in the garden we have had for nearly 3 years and its still good as new with plenty of years left in it, in fact 3 of my 4 children have all used it. I can see the seat unit being particularly useful during school run as Cody gest really tired on the way home!
I mentioned in the video about the pivoted wheels and this is one of my favourite features of the scooter, it makes cornering so easy and also saves lots of wear and tear on the scooter wheels. There is also a whole host of accessories available for these models so your child can truly make their scooter unique. Here are the scooters technical specifications for you taken form the website.
