Last month I took delivery of an exciting piece of equipment! Having 4 children and flooring through out I constantly have a mop in my hand. Then Vax sent me one of the their fabulous Floormate Trio which are specially for hard floors. The machine is priced at £219 but if you hurry its currently on sale on the Vax Website for only £179. It has transformed my cleaning and surprised me at how much dirt was hidden even after mopping the previous day, but before I tell you how good it is I will run down some of the features.
Its packed with some great features, the Spin Scrub Technology gives better results, the rotating SpinScrub brushes loosen embedded dirt and gives a deeper thorough clean. The wide head means it can clean large areas quickly, the machine has the ability to vac, wash and dry your floors, all which can be done by turning the multi function selector on the side. The filter in the dirty water tank is also removable and washable.
Vax got huge bonus points from me as the machine comes almost fully assembled! You simply have to click the handle in place and attach the brush attachment and visor, all done within seconds! In fact all the attachments or removable pieces are all really easy to use, the water tanks both are removable by pushing a button, the handle even removes from the machine for separate storage.
Take a look at my YouTube Video Review of the FloorMate Trio.
The machine is really light weight even when it is filled with water and I was able to carry it up and down the stairs. Due to the wide head on the front of the machine it took me literally minutes to clean the boys large bedroom. Its really easy to operate you just turn the on switch to vac, I didn’t find it too great as a vac but I think personally it is more of a wet vac than a dry vac. In wet mode you simply press the blue trigger on the handle to disperse the water, I found dispersing the water as you pull the machine back more effective. So after you have dispersed the water you push the machine forward and it sucks up the water. It is touch dry immediatley, so no slipping hazard.
The floor has only been down for a few months and it is swept every single day and mopped at least 4 times a week, so it shouldn’t have been that dirty right???? Well actually wrong I was astounded by how dirty it was, just look at this water and filter.
I decided to really put the machine to the test, but I didn’t film it incase I broke it :/ Good new I didn’t!! The machine is recommended for sealed floors but since I tore up my hallway carpet upstairs the dirt has been bothering me! Its a few more weeks until I have the new carpet laid and no matter how much I sweep and mop it, its still filthy and dusty. Take a look at this!
The results made me feel sick but good at the same time! I think this is testament to how good the rotating head is, as it really gets into the cracks and pulls the dirt out! My floors will never see a mop again, the floors look pristine and I think the results speak for themselves!
